Kingfishers#4, Prologue

I come from Gæa

And dwell in the damp earth.

On warm rocks

I worship the sun.

I am ancient, I am fear,

The feckless call me evil.

I bring you life,

I bring you death

I bring you seeing of yourself.

I am knowledge.

My name is Serpent.

There is a D.H.Laurence poem you might like about a golden serpent which this reminds me of. Can't think of the title, but it also captures the life/death nature of the serpent. Your poem also reminds me of Kundulini yoga, imagining energy as a sleeping serpent at the base of the spine. Thank you for sharing this.
