Your drawing and ceramic piece are beautiful.

When I emerged from two years of being unable to read or write, bedridden and useless, I had to take up the question of my novel, which before I was sick, placed in a national contest. I could only sit up 20 minutes a day. I knew I was compromised, that I might never be able to write again. And yet I did. Because that is who we are, how we are made. I believe it helped in my healing.

I send all best wishes for an equally rich 2012.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8143260356124293059.post-57896616785143431702011-12-30T14:06:50.264-08:002011-12-30T14:06:50.264-08:00Thank you, Mike. After all marriage is supposed to be a promise to be monogamous (theoretically) or at least be true to another person. Although then we get into the random statistics that say few married same sex couples last more than three years.
I still don't know where those stats come from!

Another interesting argument that came from the trial was when Olson brought up the point that if marriage was specifically for procreation - then why were jailed inmates allowed to get married if there was no chance to consummate the marriage?

I suppose we could argue about this all day. But I am looking forward to seeing the prop 8 documentary that's coming out soon. I think that at the very least it will give us all a lot more to write about. :)Suehttp://www.diffuse5.com/category/blogs/news-necessities/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8143260356124293059.post-67103253765614926962010-06-14T12:46:57.455-07:002010-06-14T12:46:57.455-07:00Well, actually, the Mad genius, Carmen and Raoul d...Well, actually, the Mad genius, Carmen and Raoul didn't arrive until the mid sixties- Castro's revolution didn't even start until ten years after Israel was formed in 1948. So the Jews would have been first, but let's be frank, they would have gone to South Beach and Fort Ladeda while Carmen is a bit North speaking Spanish in Palm Bay. The similarity must be the result of all these being Indo-european, but reck and reckon are not as close as I would have assumed. This little exploration threw a new light on the phrase "To reck his rod" in the sense of fearing the justice of God, also.

Thanks for your comment.the man from Utzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07562877650585442678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8143260356124293059.post-69037070252436011272009-11-29T17:50:33.211-08:002009-11-29T17:50:33.211-08:00I have the advantage of having grown up among peop...I have the advantage of having grown up among people who still say 'reckon', so the etymology seems a little clearer to me.
Happy New Year to you.Carolyn Roosevelthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02950471131741409175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8143260356124293059.post-6510706819330674582009-11-26T19:23:15.890-08:002009-11-26T19:23:15.890-08:00Cheers indeed--that is super cool (and was, well b...Cheers indeed--that is super cool (and was, well before the movie people showed up.)
